Meet the trustees

AFC Wimbledon Foundation has a dedicated board of trustees to support and guide the Foundation staff to achieve its charitable mission.

Our Trustees are:

Chair: Jennifer Scott

Jennifer became Chair of Trustees in summer 2021 and is a passionate advocate of inclusion, female leadership, and the power of sport and creativity to transform lives. She is the CEO of Dulwich Picture Gallery, the world’s first purpose built public art gallery. She was previously Director of the Holburne Museum in Bath and Curator of Paintings at Royal Collection Trust. She has served on the boards of several charities and is a Governor at Alleyn’s School. She is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and a Fellow Commoner of Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge.

Specialist areas: Strategy, leadership, fundraising.

 

Jane Lonsdale MBE

Jane became a Trustee on 30 Sept 2022 and is passionate that football clubs are a community asset delivering positive outcomes for the community.  is currently Head of Corporate Governance at HM Treasury and has experience in the finance sector, media and communication, fundraising and education. Jane has vast experience of volunteering including for AFC Wimbledon, AFCW plc and The Dons Trust. Jane set up the Dons Trust Diversity and Inclusion Working Group and the Junior Dons working group and introduced the first membership engagement tool. 

Specialist areas: Diversity and Inclusion, Child Protection / Safeguarding, Communications including member engagement 

Peter Aves

Peter became a Trustee in March 2022, having taken on the role of Treasurer a year earlier. He is the Chief Finance & Operations Officer of a reinsurance business and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Peter is a long-time Wimbledon season ticket, having followed the club for 30-something years.  

Specialist areas: Finance and accounting.

 

Matt Guest

Matt joined the Foundation board in Autumn 2022 having previously seen the work and impact of Dons Local Action Group.  He is Managing Director of Cappagh Contractors, a Wimbledon head-quartered civil engineering business.  Matt is enthusiastic about access to sport, facilities and social activities for disadvantaged groups and the local community.

His specialist areas are: Business & Management, Commercial, Business Development and Governance.

Michele Little

Michele became a Trustee in September 2022, having been asked by the Dons Trust Board to be their representative on the Foundation board. Michele is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor and sits on the boards of AFCW PLC and the Dons Trust, as well as AFCW Community Limited (the Club’s educational arm). She is Treasurer of the Dons Trust and looks after the administration of the Plough Lane Bond. Michele is also Treasurer of two London charities, one of whom she is Chair of.

Alex Mitchell

Alex became a trustee of the Foundation in 2019. Prior to joining the Foundation, he was a Director of a criminal justice charity. He works in political campaigns and stakeholder management and also provides strategic support to a number of MPs. Alex has been following the Dons for over a decade home and away and is a season ticket holder at Plough Lane.

Specialist areas: Government & Public Relations, Governance, digital and fundraising

 

Dr Mohan Sekeram

Mohan became a Trustee in September 2022. He has been a Gp in Merton since 2008 and is the clinical lead for Social prescribing in Merton and Wandsworth place. He is also the Southwest London lead for Personalised Care. His interests include health promotion and looking after health and well-being of individuals. 

Specialist areas: Health and Social , EDI

 

Karen Peck

Karen became a Trustee in February 2017, acting as Company Secretary and Safeguarding Lead Trustee. She has worked for the housing charity, Shelter and founded a charity to support low-income households across London. Alongside her subsequent career in local and central government, she uses her spare time to be actively involved in community groups and is a governor at a Merton High School.
